Mark Rankine is a professional footballer who played for Preston North End, among other clubs.
Rankine, referred to as 'shabbah' by the north end faithful, was a hard-working short midfielder who would give anything for his team's cause. Rankine was an essential member of Preston's play-off final team from the season 2000-2001, and was one of the many players and supporters who welled up with tears at the end of the game.
