Mark Pougatch is a journalist working for the BBC.

Pougatch started his broadcasting career at BBC Essex in 1992 when he graduated from Durham.

Pougatch currently presents Sport on Five most Fridays and Saturdays on BBC Radio Five Live. He has also presented Football Focus and has been at many big sporting events including the Sydney Olympics, Athens Olympics, Wimbledon, the 2002 World Cup, and the 2006 World Cup.

Mark has recently joined the team of "Football Superstars", a groundbreaking MMORPG that integrates gameplay and lifestyle of footballers with cutting edge technology, for an undisclosed period of time. (2008-present)

Pougatch lives in London with his wife and two children.

He is actually of Ukrainian origin and is rumored to be 8th in line to the Ukrainian throne. During an on-air discussion regarding Wikipedia on the Radio 5 Live breakfast show on 16 August 2007, Pougatch dismissed these rumours. He shares a birthday, 27th January, with fellow Radio Five Live broadcaster Cornelius Lysaght and composer Mozart.
