On January 5, 2007, President George W. Bush named Mark D. Pfeifle to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Global Outreach. Prior to this, he served as Senior Communications Advisor at the Department of Defense. Earlier in his career, he served as Communications Advisor at the White House. He also previously served as Director of the Social Security Information Center at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Mr. Pfeifle received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota.
