Mark O'Leary

Mark O'Leary is a guitarist and composer born in Cork, Ireland. He was educated at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. Mark O'Leary is considered by some to be the most technically gifted and innovative guitarist Ireland has ever produced.While in the past he was not getting the attention he deserved,the release of numerous cd's in the past 3 or 4 years have helped him gain a growing following not just here but abroad as well.

O'Leary specializes in post-jazz music but has also performed Norwegian and Swedish folk music and worked with electronic artist Gunter Muller and performed his contemporary classical works with Cikada string quartet. He has toured Europe with Paul Bley and played with King Crimson drummer Bill Bruford,Jack DeJohnette, Peter Erskine, Joey Baron, Sunny Murray and Han Bennink. O'Leary's CDs have received favorable reviews from the British magazine Jazzwise, Downbeat, the Wire and The Guardian.Mark also has the distinction of having played in duo with Paul Bley, Bobo Stenson and Matthew Shipp He has also performed with Percussionists Terje Isungset, Alex Cline, Alexander Tarasov and Hans-Kristian Kjos-Sorensen He has also played with Anders Jormin, Palle Danielsson, Michael Formanek, Arild Andersen Lars Danielsson and Henri Texier.==Discography== All of the following albums were released by Leo Records:
