Mark Steven Murphy (born April 22, 1958 in Canton, Ohio) was an American football safety who played eleven seasons in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers. Murphy attended West Liberty State College. He played football and graduated from Oakwood High School in Canton.
He helped the Packers win the 1982 NFC Central Division.
In 11 seasons he had 11 sacks, 20 interceptions for 194 yards and one touchdown, and over 600 tackles. He also had one punt return for four yards.
In 1998 he was elected to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. 1993 was the defensive backs coach for Malone college in Canton, Ohio Currently, Mr. Murphy is a defensive backs coach at St. Vincent- St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
