Mark Mitchell (born September 29, 1955 Melbourne) is an Australian comedic actor. His most famous character is Con the Fruiterer whom he played on The Comedy Company. He also plays Con's wife, Marika. Both characters have outlived the original show and continue to make appearances on and off television. Mark also starred in sketch shows The Eleventh Hour and Larger Than Life.
He has also starred in some children's programs, including Round the Twist, Lift Off and The Genie From Down Under, and played the voice of Buck Cluck in the Walt Disney film Chicken Little, though his voice work was only featured in the cut shown in Australian cinemas.
Mitchell's character, 'Con the Fruiterer' was appointed Moomba Monarch (popularly called King of Moomba) in 1989.[1]
Mitchell is now also the voice of Commercial Radio's advertising campaigns, playing a dim-witted fool who interviews various people about radio advertising with amusing consequences resulting from his characters lack of understanding the interviewees.
