Mark Marvin Peterson (born June 4, 1960) is an Idaho businessman and philanthropist. He is the owner and president of the largest auto group in Idaho, Peterson Automotive Group. Dealerships are located in both Boise and Nampa. The Idaho Statesman lists the auto group as one of the top private businesses in Idaho. He is well known for his appearances in the automotive group's commercials in the treasure valley over the past twenty years. The automotive group was started by his grandfather, in his grandfather's garage in the 1920's, with the official date in 1928[1] and has notably expanded in recent years[2]. He is also involved with the Philippine population in Boise, has served the Boy Scouts for various years, and the community by coaching various youth sports teams. Mark also donates to athletic and other programs in the Meridian School District and Boise School District.

Mark was born June 4, 1960 to Marvin and Jean Peterson in Boise, Idaho. Helped win two basketball state championships at Capital High School. Served a church mission in the Philippines for two years where he learned to speak Tagalog. Married Cathy Peterson of Boise, Idaho December 20, 1982. Graduated from Brigham Young University with a business degree. He currently resides in Eagle, Idaho.

Involved with the Philippine community in Boise Idaho in particular the Filipino/American Association of Idaho . Donor to Boise Philippine publications. Involvement in Idaho High School Sports donating in particular to Eagle High School and Capital High School helping create the shoot to win a one year lease on a car competition at Eagle High School in 2006. Completed a religious service mission in the Philippines for two years. Also has served the Boy Scouts in Boy Scout leadership positions, along with helping by sponsoring golf tournaments among other things. In 2007 he helped organize an effort similar to that of popular tv show Extreme Home Makeover, in which associates of his professionally remodeled the home of a needy family in Boise. Has also worked with United Way, The Caring Foundation, Sub for Santa, YWCA, and many others.

Under his direction, Peterson Automotive group has expanded to currently include the following franchises: Toyota[3], Lexus, BMW, Kia, Chrysler, Jeep, Chevrolet[4], Dodge[5], Scion, Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac. The autogroup has also become what is now consistently one of the top private businesses in Idaho[6].
