Mark H. Sibley

Mark Hopkins Sibley (1796 - September 8, 1852) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Sibley completed preparatory studies. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Canandaigua, New York, in 1814. He served as member of the State assembly in 1834 and 1835.
Sibley was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1837-March 3, 1839). He served as member of the State senate in 1841. He served as judge of Ontario County 1847-1851. He resumed the practice of his profession. He died in Canandaigua, September 8, 1852. He was interred in West Avenue Cemetery.
