As CEO of Service Assurance/Outsource IT, Mark Giannini presides over the largest privately held technology integration organization in the Mid-South.
Prior to founding Service Assurance in 1990, Giannini was owner of Omnicom, a computer leasing company that he later sold. Before entering the marketplace, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Christian Brothers University.
Giannini, a native Memphian, has served the community in many ways, including technology donor for the WKNO Action Auction, technology provider for Race for the Cure, Wine auction volunteer for the Brooks Museum, Co-sponsor of the digital arts tent for Arts in the Park, Technology committee member for the Brooks Museum, Chairman of the CBU technology board, Member of Deans’s advisory board at CBU, technology donor for the Boy Scouts and supporter of the Memphis Humane Society. In 1990, Mark Giannini knew that there was a demand for a nimble, customer focused, computer service and repair organization that would address customer service needs in hours, instead of days. He developed a plan and structure that allowed for a 120 minute response time to all service and support requests in the Memphis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Attention to detail and focused execution by Giannini helped the business grow one customer at a time to its current size. Giannini takes pride in creating jobs for Memphians and continues to eye new opportunities for growth. His creativity and entrepreneurial talent resulted in the formation of a technology outsourcing venture named Outsource IT in 1998 and a software development organization named Depot Works in early 2003.
In early 2004, Giannini saw the need for a disaster recovery solution for small and mid sized businesses. This idea, coupled with extensive research and development, led to the creation of Packrat Automatic Data Protection. This revolutionary software product has altered the way businesses large and small protect their critical data. Packrat is the leading data protection company in the Mid-South and is also a major Business Continuity Planning consultancy.
Giannini is the recipient of 1996 TOP 40 UNDER 40 award from the Memphis Business Journal and was named Entrepreneur of the Year in business to business services 1997 by the same publication. Additionally, Entrepreneur Magazine named him one of the TOP 500 Entrepreneurs in the US in 1997. Who cares it is 2008 now, get with the present!
