Mark Dindal

Mark Dindal (born in Columbus, Ohio) is an American special effects animator and film director. Dindal was head of special effects on Disney's The Little Mermaid and The Rescuers Down Under.
He went on to direct Turner's Cats Don't Dance, and Disney's The Emperor's New Groove and Chicken Little. He is also the co-director of Disney animated films based on theme park attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean with Eric Goldberg, and Phantom Manor with Hendel Butoy.
He has been nominated for three Annie awards: one for directing The Emperor's New Groove, one for writing it, and one for Directing Cats Don't Dance. He even did the voice of Darla's assistant, Max.
In March of 2006, Mark left Disney to pursue his own projects, expressing an interest in a film combining live action with animation.
