[edit] Career

Convery started his career with Sunderland in 1999, where he played until 2001. He spent some of this time on loan in Denmark with Hvidovre.

He was signed by Darlington from Sunderland in 2001 for no fee.[1]

On 30 June 2005 he signed for York City.[2] He signed a new deal at York in July 2006 after being offered a contract extension earlier that summer.[3] He had been out of action since mid-October 2006 with a foot injury and it is now thought he had damaged a metatarsal, with a visit to a specialist expected to confirm another six-week lay-off,[4] and made his comeback for the team against Northwich Victoria on 6 March 2007.[5]

He was released by York City at the end of the 2006–07 season on 16 May 2007.[6]

He was signed by Cambridge United on 2 July 2007, after agreeing a two-year deal with the club.[7] He made his debut for against former club York City in August 2007,[8] during which he sustained a hamstring injury.[9] He joined Weymouth on loan until the end of he 2007–08 season in March and made his debut in a 4–2 defeat against Farsley Celtic.[10][11] Convery was believed to have been made available for transfer by Cambridge after the end of the season.[12]
