Mark Carrier (boxer)

Mark Carrier is a retired heavyweight professional boxer from Bristol, Tennessee.

Carrier made his professional debut in November of 1987 with a first-round knockout of Tim McCurdy, who was also appearing in his first professional bout. In January of 1988 Carrier brought a professional record of 2-0 into a match with 0-3 Larry Fortner, a match which Carrier lost by split decision after four rounds. It would be Carrier's last loss for four and a half years. Carrier would puff up his record by facing mostly unknown fighters and tomato cans until he had run his record to 27-1-1 in July of 1992, when he fought 9-2 Jimmy Lee Smith, a more accomplished fighter than he was accustomed to facing. Carrier retired after six rounds against Smith. Carrier would then fight four more times over the next three years, winning all four bouts, closing his career out with a flourish when he defeated 45-18-4 former cruiserweight contender Michael Greer, easily the most notable win of Carrier's nine year career.

Carrier retired with a professional record of 31-2-1, with 26 wins coming by knockout. ^[1]
