Mark Barnsley (born July 22, 1975) is an Australian band-leader, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. Although he is best known as a trombonist, he is also a capable bassist.

Although mainly working in jazz and swing, as part of the touring band for such acts as Human Nature and David Campbell, he has also worked as a commercial trombonist in other genres such as rock and funk, such as with the band Big Toy.

He has arranged pieces for "We Will Rock You" show band, Ed Wilson Big Band, Ray Charles Tribute, Tim Oram Big Band and the RAAF Band Melbourne, as well as many others.

His discography includes playing on records by Caroline O'Connor, Swing City, Mark Rivett and Ed Wilson's Wacky Big Band.

Barnsley is director for a number of school stage and jazz bands, for which he often writes arrangements. He is also director for the community big band Sussudio, which recorded it's first record in 2006, featuring some arrangements by Barnsley, including an original Mark Barnsley piece entitled 'Pig Tales'. Mark Barnsley has also done recordings at fox studios with many of his school bands.

He is an admirer of the band Queen (he has played alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor) and soul/funk outfit Earth Wind and Fire.
