Mark Bamford

Mark Bamford (writer/director) was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but raised mostly in New York. He graduated from New York University (NYU) in 1989 with a double major in French Literature and Linguistics and a minor in Anthropology. After working for several years in Los Angeles as a freelance screenwriter, Mark wrote and directed the award-winning short film Hero (2000) which won him the Atom Films "Director to Watch" Award in 2001. "Hero" sold worldwide for television and aired in the U.S. on the PBS network.

Since 2004 Bamford has lived with wife, co-writer and producer Suzanne Kay, and their two children in Cape Town, South Africa. Cape of Good Hope (2004) is his first feature.[1][2]
