Mark Baars (Uden, November 27, 1970) is one of the most popular Dutch Podcasters who produces his shows in English language. Baars has integrated into podcasting much of his experience gained from hosting his own show on a regular Radio A-FM. Baars started Podcasting in 2005 with the experimental Podcast “The Mark Baars Show” that still exists today. Besides the mostly PodSafe Music, he talks about a variety of topics including technology and science news. In 2007 Baars started the ICT-Update Podcast, a show targeted at people interested in Information and Communication technology. Together with podcaster Maurice Zondag, trend watcher Vincent Everts and IT-consultant Jasper Kimmel, he produces a weekly show about the ICT-news in the Dutch language. Currently Baars is experimenting with Video Podcasting and the live streaming of video on the Internet. Baars also works as a technical consultant, network administrator, and independent software developer. He's currently residing in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Educational background

Baars didn't like the educational system, “having to learn all kinds of things you don't need later in life”. Unlike his parents expectations, he got a diploma at the school for Economics and Administration. He's mostly an autodidact in the fields of Science, Space and Technology and completed IT trainings, one of them made him a Microsoft Certified Professional.
