Mark Allinson

Mark Allinson is the current head of the University of Bristol's Department of German. He has published a number of books including Politics and Popular Opinion in East Germany, 1945 - 68 and Germany and Austria 1814 - 2000 among others. He offers a variety of courses concerned with the recent history of Germany and also lectures on the German language.
Dr. Allinson was born in Brighton in 1967 and later went on to study German and French at the University of Salford. Allinson then went to University College London and completed his PhD under the supervision of Professor Mary Fullbrook. He was employed by the University of Bristol as a lecturer in 1994.
