[edit] Guttermouth years
Most famous for being the leader and singer of the band Guttermouth, Adkins is known for his energetic and deliberately offensive performances. His brashness, on stage presence and ability to incite a riot have drawn comparisons to GG Allin.[citation needed] Adkins quick wit and low brow humour are known generally beyond punk rock circles. He has also been described as always providing a spectacle, along with being charming, silly, hilarious and Hairy![4] Adkins has been arrested several times for offences such as nudity and assaulting a police officer.[5] Adkins was also arrested in 1995 after a performance at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion in San Bernardino on charges of "assault with a deadly weapon" after using his onstage microphone to incite the crowd into a near-riot. Adkins also encountered problems in Saskatoon, Canada when incidents of onstage nudity prompted legal action against him on charges of public indecency. Adkins was deported back to the U.S. and touring continued, but Guttermouth was unable to re-enter or work in Canada for several years.
