Marius Ceteraş

Marius Ceteraş (b. April 5, 1973, Alba Iulia, Romania) is a Romanian chess player, and a FIDE Master since 1992. He received 3 International Master norms, one of them unrecognized by FIDE due to a bureaucratically generated error of the Romanian Chess Federation. Best ELO FIDE rating on 01.10.2003: 2427. Current ELO on 01.07.2004: 2425.

He was born in Alba Iulia, a city located in Transylvania. First started playing chess at the age of 5. He studied electrical engineering and he was a PhD Candidate at the Technical University from Cluj Napoca Chess instructor since 1995. He speaks Romanian, English and Portuguese.
