Mario Mattei

Mario Mattei (1792-1870) was an Italian Cardinal, of the Roman noble House of Mattei. He became Dean of the College of Cardinals.
He was created cardinal in 1832. He became Bishop of Frascati in 1844, Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina in 1854, and Bishop of Ostia in 1860.
He was a participant in the First Vatican Council.
