Mario Guerrero

Mario Guerrero (born September 28, 1949 in Santo Domingo) is a former Major League Baseball shortstop who played for four teams in an eight year career from 1973 to 1980. He played for the Boston Red Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals, the California Angels and the Oakland Athletics, where he was a starter in the 1978 season.
Guerrero signed with the New York Yankees as an amatur free agent in 1968 and was traded to the Red Sox for future Cy Young Award winner Sparky Lyle. Guerrero played for Boston two years as a utility player before being traded to the Cardinals for Jim Willoughby.He played one season with the Cardinals before being traded in the middle of the 1976 season for a minor leaguer. He signed as a free agent with the San Francisco Giants after the 1977 season, but was soon part of a trade with the Athletics for Vida Blue. He played his final three seasons there, before retiring before the 1981 season.
While working as a buscón (headhunter) in the Dominican Republic Guerrero sued Raúl Mondesí for 1% of his salary. He ended up winning $640,000 and Raúl Mondesí was forced to pay. [1]
