Professor Mario Ignacio Aguilar is Professor of Professor of Religion and Politics at St. Mary's College of the University of St Andrews. Aguilar is also the director and a founding member of the Centre for the Study of Religion and Politics (known as the CSRP) based within St Mary's.
He has written extensively on the Social History of the Church in Chile (including a nine volume work on the subject), Religion in the Contemporary World, Religion and Anthropology, African Christianity and Contextual Theology.
