Known as Marilyn Waltz, she was Playboy 's Playmate of the Month in the February 1954, April 1954 and April 1955 issues. She was the first of two women to become a three-time Playmate. However for the first of her Playboy appearances, Marilyn was billed as Margaret Scott. For many years thereafter, many assumed that Marilyn and Margaret actually were two different people. It wasn't until the mid 1990s that the two were revealed to be the same person.
While looking through photos in preparation for 1996's The Playmate Book, Hugh Hefner noticed stark similarities between the two models. He speculated in the book about this: "I only noticed the resemblance as the photos were being assembled for the book [Hefner had purchased both images from Baumgarth calendar company] and that Margaret Scott's name doesn't appear in lists of pinup models active in the period. Nor do any of the photographers recall a model with that name." So she co-held the three-time appearance record in secret for 42 years. Finally Marilyn notified Playboy that she in fact was Margaret Scott.

Although her pictures had the typical 50's looks, she was later considered a more distinguished, cared for and good looking woman of her era. Waltz received more fan mail — ironically, for her Margaret Scott appearance — than any other Playmate in 1954. Even today she is still considered to be one of the more beautiful pinup models of the 1950s [1] and her February 1954 Margaret Scott centerfold appearance is seen as a classic [2].

Waltz married Breck Jordan on January 16, 1958 and took his name. They had two children and three grandchildren. Waltz also was a singer and commercial actress, and did layouts for other men's magazines prior to her Playboy work. Later in life, Marilyn owned a successful real estate firm in Southern California. In 1993 she moved to Oregon and worked in another firm in Medford until her retirement in 1996.
