Marilyn F. O'Grady was the unsuccessful Republican opponent of Carolyn McCarthy in the 2002 election for New York's 4th district in the United States House of Representatives, and the unsuccessful opposition from the Conservative Party of New York in the 2004 election for the Senate seat held by Charles Schumer. She was nominated over the much better funded and organized businessman Michael Benjamin and State Assembylman Howard Mills, which split the opposition to Schumer. An ophthalmologist by training, she resides in Garden City, New York with her husband, John F. O'Grady, who is a dentist in that village.
