Marie-Louise Theile

Marie-Louise Theile was a former Australian news anchor. She was most famous for presenting Ten News in Brisbane.
Born in Brisbane Marie-Louise graduated at the University of Queensland. Marie worked as a reporter for The Sun, before she moved to New York where she worked at Elle magazine. She then spent time in the New York Bureau of Brisbane's Sunday Sun and the Adelaide News. When Marie-Louise returned to Queensland Marie-Louise worked as a journalist writing for Ita, Cleo and Vogue Living magazines, as well as The Australian before joining ABC-TV as a news reporter.
In May 1991 Marie-Louise co-anchored the 6:00pm Ten Eyewitness News with Glenn Taylor in Brisbane. In Early 1994 Marie-Louise took up the position as newsreader for Ten News in Melbourne with David Johnston. In 1997 she returned home to Ten News Brisbane. She has also substituted on the national late news.
Marie-Louise is a wife and is a mother of three.
In October 2007, she announced that she will be resigning from Ten News in December, to spend more time with her family. Georgina Lewis (current weather presenter and regular fill in presenter) will replace Theile from January 2008. Marie-Louise's last broadcast was on Friday the 7th of December 2007.
