Maribyrnong is an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia located 9km from the Melbourne CBD. Its Local Government Area is the City of Maribyrnong. It is home to Highpoint Shopping Centre, one of the largest shopping centres in the country.

Many native species exist along the Maribyrnong River. Some species thrive in the area. The most noticeable are;

The number 57 tram provides public transport from the Flinders Street Station in the city to Cordite Avenue, West Maribyrnong. The number 82 tram provides public transport from Moonee Ponds (Ascot Vale Road / Puckle Street) to Footscray (Leeds Street / Irving Street). It is one of only three Melbourne tram routes which does not travel through the Melbourne CBD. There are also several bus routes to East keilor/Avondale Heights and the Western suburbs. The 468 is the only Bus to go To Essendon which is closer to Monnee Ponds

The suburb adjoins the Maribyrnong River Trail, which is used by commuting and recreational cyclists along the Maribyrnong River.

The area also contains Footscray North primary, a small school located on the corner of Mephan street and rosamond road.
