Marianist Family

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Marianist Family is a group of four Roman Catholic organizations which trace their origins to Blessed William Joseph Chaminade and Mother Adèle de Batz de Tranquelleon. The Family's four branches are the Society of Mary (Marianists), an order of priests and brothers; the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (FMI), an order of nuns; the Alliance Mariale (AM), an historically all-female secular institute, comprised of laypeople who "dedicate their lives to God by taking vows while living in the world"; and Marianist Lay Communities (MLC), a private association of the faithful, including both men and women.
