[edit] Rivalry with St. Joseph High School
A long standing rivalry exists between Marian High School and nearby St. Joseph High School in South Bend, Indiana. While many reasons exist for this rivalry, the most contentious concerns growing up in the feeder school together only to go to separate high schools later on. One might also say the tension could come from St.Joe playing many of their home games at Marian High School. The field actually belongs to Marian High School, but is rented out to St. Joe due to their lack of a game field and from pressure from the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese. Normally it works out that Marian schedules their football schedule and if St.Joe chooses they can rent the field when Marian is away.
