Marian Baban (born 8 January 1976 in Turnu Măgurele, Teleorman County) is a Romanian flatwater canoer competing in the kayak disciplines.
Baban, who did not take up canoeing until the age of sixteen, won a seat in Romania's four-man (K4) kayak in 2001. Since then he has been a regular medallist at both world and European championships.
He was also a finalist at the 2004 Olympic Games, placing 7th in the K4 1000m.
Nicknamed Bax, he is 184cm (6'0") tall and weighs 85kg (187 lbs). He is a member of the Dinamo Bucharest club.
