Marian Aliuţă, (born February 4, 1978 in Bucharest), is a Romanian football player, currently under contract with FCU Politehnica Timişoara. However, he signed for the club after the end of the winter transfer window and therefore does not have the right to play for Poli until next season.
Aliuţă stated to play football at Steaua Bucharest and as soon as he reached the age of 18 is loaned to Steaua Mizil and then to Chindia Târgovişte and Gloria Bistriţa. Released from him contract with Steaua, Aliuţă signed with FC Farul Constanţa in 1997 and then with Sheriff Tiraspol one year later.
1999 finds him in Ukraine, playing for Shakhtar Donetsk from where he returned to Romania in 2002 to finally make his debut for Steaua Bucharest, at that time being, with USD135,000 the highest paid footballer from Divizia A. Despite being voted as The Best Player of Divizia A at the end of 2002-03 season, Aliuţă leaves Steaua after an altercation with the club's Chief Executive Mihai Stoica. Rapid Bucharest is his next club, which he left after only few weeks to play in Korea for Chunnam Dragons and then in the 2005-06 season he played for FC Metalurg Donetsk. In November of 2006 he signed a two-year contract with Iraklis Thessaloniki.
He signed a 3 year contract with FCU Politehnica Timişoara in the Spring of 2007 but only made his debut for the team in the 2007/2008 season.
