Mariahu is located at 25.62° N 82.62° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 87 metres (285 feet).

As of 2001 India census[2], Mariahu had a population of 20,142. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mariahu has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 50%. In Mariahu, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.
