Maria Stepanova (born February 23, 1979 in Shpakovskoe, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian professional and Olympic basketball player. In the United States, she plays for the Phoenix Mercury in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).

At a height of six foot eight inches, she is the second-tallest player in the league (along with Katie Feenstra, Zheng Haixia and Lindsay Taylor). Only Margo Dydek, at 7' 2", is taller.

Stepanova was born in the village Shpakovskoe, and grew up in Tosno.
