From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maria Komnene or Comnena (1144-1190) was the daughter of Isaac Komnenos and his first wife, Theodora. Isaac was a son of the Emperor John II Komnenos and Piroska, daughter of King Ladislaus I of Hungary.

Maria's nephew, by her sister Irene, was Isaac, who made himself master of an independent Cyprus. She had two half-sisters. Theodora Komnene married King Baldwin III of Jerusalem and, as a widow, became the lover of the Emperor Andronikos I Komnenos. Eudokia Komnene married William VIII of Montpellier and was the grandmother of James I of Aragon.

Maria Komnene married King Stephen IV of Hungary in 1156, but they had no children.
