Maria Avedici Santoya is a fictional character in first movie of The Omen series. She is the mother of Damien Thorn, the Antichrist. She is also a jackal.

In Italy on June 6th 1976 (2006 in the recent remake), she gave birth to Damien (the Antichrist) in an ordinary hopsital and died in childbirth. She was buried in Chervet, and when Robert Thorn and Keith Jennings to find her, they discovered her grave.

When they opened the grave, they found a canine-like skeleton, proving that she was a jackal.
