Marguerite Jeanne Carpentier

Marguerite Jeanne Carpentier de Glîmes (Paris 1886-Paris 1965) was a French painter and sculptor.
She was very important at the beginning of the 20th century because of her artistic independence and thanks to her, the first school of female painters was created. She studied in the École des Beaux Arts (1900-1902) and in the Académie Julian, where she met Rodin. She wrote a Journal d’artiste (a diary).
