Margaret Virginia Whitley

Margaret Virginia Whitley, Gigi (February 10, 1867 – July 3, 1951), also nicknamed "The Mother of Hollywood," was present when her husband Hobart Johnstone Whitley coined the name Hollywood, California for his future city.

Margaret Virginia Ross Whitley was born in Mobile, Alabama, USA, the seventh daughter of Willian Ross and Margaret Virginia Hart Ross. She attended College. Gigi married, Hobart Johnstone Whitley in the Spring of 1886.

Gigi died in Hollywood and was buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery.
