Margaret Brent Middle School is a middle school in St. Mary's County, Maryland and is part of St. Mary's County Public Schools. As of 2006 there are 119 faculty members including: Principals, Administrators, teachers, maintenance, and food service staff. The majority of the students are caucasian, and the majority of the school population is male. The school offers special classes such as art, and physical education. It also offers music-related classes such as: Chorus, band, and strings.
Margaret Brent was recently renovated in 2005. The school is now larger, and the Board of Education is working on transferring many students from nearby Leonardtown Middle School.
The school is located in St. Mary's County, Maryland, a rural area about 60 miles southeast of Washington, D.C. It is surrounded by the Patuxent River, the Potomac River, and the Chesapeake Bay. The population is mostly 'working class', with both parents working.

Margaret Brent Middle School has gotten many positive compliments. It was recently rated at one of the top middle schools in the D.C. region. The band, chorus, and strings have been a succes too. Music Director Todd Burroughs has led the Margaret Brent Middle School band through 2 festival compitions so far by getting "I"s in both. The ratings are "I' being best, "VI" being worst. On May 1st 2007, the band has played at the Maryland State Festivel with the best of the best. Here, they also got a "I" rating overall. Diane Trautman has led the chorus into "I" ratings in festivels as well, and is going to state just like the band. On May 3rd at state, the boy's chorus group got a "II", the girl's chorus group got a "I" and the group with both together got a "I". Christopher Karnbach leads the strings that have had much success has well.
