Marek Posival (born 1 April 1963) is a Canadian filmmaker.

Born in Prague, he emigrated to Toronto and attended York University in the 1980s.

He is best known as a producer of feature films, primarily of the thriller or drama genre.

A script penned by Posival, Untitled Twisted Project (also known as Act of Redress and based on an original story) is due to be produced as a theatrical feature in summer 2008, with Robert Lieberman (Fire in the Sky) directing. Posival will also be on board as one of the film's producers.

Posival's trademark plot-line tends to involve brutal violence interrupting the banal lives of people inclined to "go with the flow."

He has also directed numerous commercials.

Marek also wrote and directed a highly-regarded short film called Hold-Up (2000) and worked with Deepa Mehta as Associate Producer on the feature film Water (2005) which was among the five nominees for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2006 Academy Awards.

Marek's latest film is Phantom Punch, a period drama about the life of the controversial heavyweight boxing champion Sonny Liston, which he produced together with Hassain Zaidi and Ving Rhames.
