Marcus Valerius Messala Corvinus (consul 58)

Marcus Valerius Messalla Corvinus was a Roman who lived in the 1st century and was the oldest son of Domitia Lepida and consul Marcus Valerius Messalla Barbatus. Marcus was the brother of Empress Valeria Messalina and half-brother of Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix; uncle of Claudia Octavia and Britannicus; brother-in-law and second cousin of Emperor Claudius; second cousin of Emperor Caligula and first cousin of Emperor Nero. Marcus was consul in 58. During his consulship, the senate paid him half a million sesterces to support himself.
