Marcus Reeves is a writer and performer currently living and working in Nunhead, South East London. Raised in Croydon, he was born in 1979 in the Clapham section of London, at a hospital on the site of what is now TESCO.
Marcus studied at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design before moving into music and theatre. As an actor, song-writer, musician and stand-up comedian, he has performed across the UK at The Edinburgh Festival, St. David’s Hall in Cardiff and at various venues in London.
In 2004, Marcus recorded and released his first EP, Equally Cursed and Blessed and made his first pop video; Stranger Than Fiction, in which he played 80s icon Boy George and performance artist Leigh Bowery.
After a successful mentorship in 2005 between Marcus and performance artist Kazuko Hohki at BAC (original home of Jerry Springer The Opera), Reeves launched his first full-length theatrical production and his most successful project to date - Postcards From God - The Sister Wendy Musical.
The show launched in 2007 at Jermyn Street West End Studio Theatre under the guidance of Executive Producer Simon James Collier and returns to Hackney Empire Studio in 2008.
In 2007 he won an award for his writing from The Peggy Ramsay Foundation and performed at London's Bistrotheque with performance artist Ryan Styles, later going on to win their acclaimed Tranny Talent Contest.
