Marcos Eduardo Elias, born 16 May 1971 in São Paulo, Brazil, is a financial speculator, stock investor and mathematician. He gained notority as a controversial columnist, claiming that investors should abandon traditional methods of valuing stocks and measuring risks.
He founded EM Financial Servicesand is currently the chief investment officer of Galleas Fund.

Marcos Elias is married to Joelma Andrade and they have one child, Enzo Andrade born in November, 13, 2007.

His early education occurred at a catholic school in São Paulo named Colegio Pio XII and Colégio Etapa. He enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering course at The Polytechnical School of The University of São Paulo Services [1] in 1989, where he was chosen to participate in special training (PET-1992) for outperforming students, under the supervision of Giorgio Eugenio Oscare Giacaglia (1), former consultant of NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration). He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Pittsburgh, at Pennsylvania.
After 10 years working as an equity analyst for local and international banks, such as BNP Paribas and Brascan, in the early 2002 he co-founded GAS Investimentos, today one of the largest independent equity houses in Brazil. Two years later, he left GAS to become partner at [www.link.com.br Link Brokerage House], and in 2006, he started his own asset management house.
