Marcos Antony Aidukaitis (born 30 August 1959) has been a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since April 2008. He is the first Brigham Young University graduate from South America to become a general authority in the LDS Church.[citation needed] Aidukaitis has also served as a leader in the LDS Church at various other levels in the church and has been a leader in assisting the growth of the church in the São Paulo area.
Aidukaitis was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil. As a young man, he was an LDS Church missionary in the São Paulo South Mission of the church. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical education and an MBA from Brigham Young University. Aidukaitis has held key positions in companies such as MAV Distribution and Ogara-Hess.
Aidukaitis served in serveral LDS Church positions, including time as a church regional welfare agent. He was the first president of the Osasco Brazil Stake when it was organized in 1993. He also was the first president of the Barueri Brazil Stake when it was organized in 1997. In 2000, Aidukaitis was called as an Area Seventy of the church. He served in this leadership position until 2005 when he was called as president of the Brazil Brasília Mission. He served in this position until his call as a general authority in April 2008.
Aidukaitis and his wife Luisa have five children.
