Marching Band is an indie rock band based in Linköping, Sweden. In 2008, their first full-length album Spark Large was recorded and highlights the bands one of a kind indie pop sound. While the group does use the mainstay rock sounds of guitars, drums and bass guitar, they also employ an array of more eccentric musical instruments for a indie pop band, such as xylophone, marimba, banjo, vibraphone and unique vocal harmonies.

[edit] History

Marching Band is Erik Sunbring and Jacob Lind from Linkoping, Sweden. According to this dynamic duo, all they need are two bikes, one laptop, three microphones and their keen sense of whimsical instrumentation.

The band just finished recording their upcoming release with Adam Lasus, renowned indie rock producer of such artists as Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Army Navy, Yo la Tengo, and many more. Mastering Engineer Greg Calbi (David Bowie, John Lennon, and The Ramones) is mastering the record in early May. This much anticipated album is due for release in the summer of 2008.

Their first single Gorgeous Behavior is receiving consistent spins on Nic Harcourt’s KCRW program Morning Becomes Eclectic and was released to the world on April 23, 2008.

Their music has been in such films as Gold Circle Films “My Sassy Girl” & Marc Fienberg’s new film “Play the Game”. Their composition “Feel Good About It” has been featured on CW’s “Aliens in America” and many MTV shows.

Their new record will be released on U & L Records on July 22nd, 2008.
