Marcelo Merced Rodriguez Laprea is a Venezuelan actor and professional wrestling announcer currently working for the International Spanish version of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) shows RAW and Friday Night SmackDown!, alongside Hugo Savinovich and Carlos Cabrera, as color commentator.[1] He started working for WWE by the end of 2000 and appeared only occasionally at that time. However in the last years Rodriguez’s popularity toward Latin WWE fans has grown significantly and he currently commentates in every international version of RAW and SmackDown! while both Cabrera and Savinovich appear alternately making the broadcast with him.
Rodriguez has also appeared in a few episodes of WWE en Español but has not made any appearance in pay per views since working for WWE.
One characteristic of Rodriguez’s style of commentary is that he openly supports heels like Vince McMahon, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Edge and expresses his dislike toward some wrestlers, most notably John Cena.
