Marcella Boccia

Marcella Boccia (Baia e Latina, Italy, 1974) is an Italian poet, writer and rapper.

She published two poetry books and a story.
Marcella Boccia wrote many songs and many of her poetries have become songs.
She has collaborated with Alessandro Sommella, musicist of Planet Funk, writing songs for him.
Has received from the International Association Artists (A.I.A.) the “Poet Top 2004” Prize.
She is a pacifist writer. She lives between Italy and India and, like Gandhi, she makes hunger strikes in order to protest against the world's injustices. "Congo" is a song of denunciation of the civil war in Africa.
For her pacifist writing she has received the "Mandir of Peace Prize" (2005).
Her Indian name is Heena Suman.
[edit] Phuntsog Nyidron
In 2007 Marcella Boccia made in London the video Roof of the world with the director Roy Roberts. The song tells the story of Phuntsog Nyidron, the Tibetan nun imprisoned and tortured by the Chinese in Drapchi jail. Phuntsog Nyidron is in the video.
