Marcella Althaus-Reid

Marcella Althaus-Reid is newly appointed Professor of Contextual Theology at the University of Edinburgh, having been a reader in Christian Ethics and Practical Theology at New College, the Divinity School of the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She is the only woman professor of theology at a Scottish University, and the first woman professor of theology at the University of Edinburgh in 160 years. Althaus-Reid is a member of the Methodist Church.
She was born in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina, and graduated with a Theology Degree from ISEDET, a school in Buenos Aires dedicated to religious studies. Her interests include Liberation Theology, Feminist theology and Queer Theology.
