Marcelino Sánchez

Marcelino Sanchez (December 5, 1957November 21, 1986) was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, on December 5, 1957. He is primarily remembered for playing Rembrandt in the famous cult classic film The Warriors and as Ricardo on The Bloodhound Gang mystery vignettes featured on the 1980's children's educational television show 3-2-1 Contact. Sanchez also appeared in a number of other movies and television series. His character Rembrandt in the Warriors was a young, naive gang member with a flair for spray painting, hence his name. Rembrandt was also a playable character in the 2005 release of The Warriors by game studio Rockstar. He died of AIDS-related cancer in his Hollywood home on November 21, 1986 and is survived by his brother George and sister Mayra.

Marcelino appeared in several TV shows and movies after The Warriors including 48 Hrs (1982), War Between The Classes and Student Court and is often credited as James Marcelino.
