Marcel Bezençon

Marcel Bezençon, born May 1, 1907 in Orbe, died February 17, 1981 in Lausanne, was until 1970 the director of the European Broadcasting Union. In 1955 he conceived the idea of the Eurovision Song Contest based on the famous Sanremo Festival. Eurovision remains the world's most popular music event.
