Marc Stein is a sports reporter. He began writing for ESPN.com in 2000 and signed on full-time in 2002 to serve as the site's senior National Basketball Association writer. He also makes regular broadcast appearances as a reporter and analyst for SportsCenter, NBA Shootaround, NBA Fastbreak, NBA Coast to Coast, ESPNEWS, Cold Pizza and ESPN Radio.
Before joining ESPN, Stein covered the league for more than five years at The Dallas Morning News, first as a Dallas Mavericks beat writer for three seasons (1997-2000) and then two seasons as an NBA columnist. He had previously covered the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers for the Los Angeles Daily News and has also worked for The Washington Post, The Orange County Register and San Bernardino Sun.
Marc is a 1991 graduate of California State University, Fullerton and a fanatical supporter of Manchester City in the English Premier League. He lives in the Dallas area with his wife and two sons.
