Marc Rizzo (born on August 2, 1977 in Carlstadt, New Jersey, United States) is the current lead guitarist of Brazilian Metal band Soulfly and formerly of ill Niño. He has featured on two Soulfly albums so far: Prophecy and Dark Ages. He has also released a solo instrumental album called Colossal Myopia in 2006. In late 2007 Marc Rizzo is slated to release the follow up to his critically acclaimed Colossal Myopia with the Shrapnel Records release The Ultimate Devotion (2007) Amid the release of "The Ultimate Devotion," Marc is also recording another side project with the co-founders of Sepultura, Max and Igor Cavalera. It is named Cavalera Conspiracy.

While he plays in a metal band, his solo album shows off his wide range of styles and talents. He manages to seam elements of hard rock, metal, jazz, classical guitar, and flamenco together into surprisingly coherent and well written pieces.

Marc Rizzo is endorsed by Peavey Guitars and Yamaha Acoustics. He is also a solo recording artist with Shrapnel Records. Marc and his brother Luke Rizzo have their own record label the indie Phlamencore Records was established in 2004.

Marc has been invited to the winter Namm Festival two years running as a major endorser of Peavey Guitars. Marc also travels the world doing clinics for Peavey when he's not touring with his solo project or Soulfly.

During live shows, Marc Rizzo is known for doing numerous jump-kicks. Many fans find this entertaining. He was also known for almost always wearing a backpack while playing live shows. He has since taken off the backpack while playing, due to creating a huge buzz of "what was in Marc Rizzo's backpack" onstage. He is also known for occasionally wearing AC Milan t-shirts during live performances. This can be seen at the Download Festival 2005.

Rizzo grew up in Carlstadt, New Jersey[1], where he attended Henry P. Becton Regional High School.

He is a huge soccer fan and supports AC Milan football club with the Italian national football team.
