Marc Drogin is a writer and illustrator born in New York City in 1936. He wrote Medieval Calligraphy, Its History and Technique (ISBN 0-486-26142-5) which was published in 1980. This was followed by a children's version "Yours Truly, King Arthur" and then the first-ever published volume on the history of book curses "Anathema!" and a history of the discovery and destruction of ancient manuscripts "Biblioclasm". During this period he taught calligraphy workshops and lectured across the United States, in Canada, England and Iceland. He also, starting in 1972, began a business designing whimsical business and appointment cards for dentists and physicians in the US and UK, and then arranging for their printing. He divides his time residing in New Hampshire and in a Cotswold village in England. Rumors in the calligraphy world that he probably died a decade ago are received with amusement and never contradicted.
